In the summer we open at 1 PM and close at 6 PM..

It is very appropriate for kids and adults. The stage show is for everyone in the family. All ages will enjoy this major event. Kids, teenagers, adults, and seniors. Fun, and in good taste. Presented by professional performers who have been featured in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, NBC, CBS, ABC, Biography Channel, Leaning Channel, Travel Channel, Home Box Office, You Asked For It, Ripley's, etc.

There is a special reduced price for the summer. $17.95 for adults and $14.95 for youngsters 11 and under. If this same event were in a major city it would cost about $35 to $60. It is subsidized by sales in the souvenir shop. In the other months admission is $19.95 for all ages and runs on weekends only.

Our featured performers are currently Dorothy Dietrich and Dick Brooks. Dorothy was named by Columbia Encyclopedia as one of the 8 most noted magicians of the late 20th century, and has starred on a Home Box Office Special, a Bill Cosby Special, as well as countless other network television shows. She is also known as "The First Lady of Magic". For a detailed biography of her check out her reviews on Wikipedia.com. Both have acted as performers, consultants and advisers for such organizations as The Cris Angel Show, Mindfreak, The New York Times, The London Times, Maidenform, Manhattan Shirts, Yago Sangria, and others. The stage show includes live birds, a rabbit, poodles and doves.

The Travel Channel picked us as one of the top attractions for magic in the world! They just did a different shoot that is scheduled to air some time November, 2011.

The earlier you get there the more you see.

We start with a short film that features Houdini and our own magicians. This is followed by a fun entertainment filled guided tour of the Houdini exhibit.

If you are very interested in Houdini arrive as close to 1 PM as possible for the longer tour and film.

There are two magic shows a day in the summer that starts around 2:30 and one about 4:45. The show lasts about an hour and ends with some tricks you can do. The show is then followed by a shorter film and a shorter tour of the exhibit all ending at about 6 PM with the shop open until 6 PM for those who want to shop.

If you arrive at 1 PM you can expect to spend at least 3 hours or longer. If you arrive later at 2:30 PM expect to spend about an hour less time as the second go around is a bit shorter as people are looking at that time to head for home.

It is all in a large 150 year old historic house on one of Scranton's oldest streets. The street houses other historic sites such as The Tripp House and Saint Ann's Bascilica. The Tripp House is not only the oldest homestead in Scranton but in the netire county. This is the old and original Main Avenue of Scranton. What are now the main streets of Scranton further downtown was a swamp and cranberry bog that was filled in back in the day as the area developed.
