My grandsons, and I, 14 years old and 11years old, spent an amazing 3 1/2 hours at the museum yesterday. What a wonderful treat and privilege to be entertained by one of the most famous and talented magician in the history of the world, DorothyDietrich. I suggest that before you attend the museum, tour and show, that you google this amazingly talented , beautiful and sincerely sweet lady and watch the videos of her world famous bullet catch and straight jacket escape, with tony curtis narrating. it was a thrill to be so close to this world famous magician. The theater was very comfortable, the tour extremely informative ,and the show was thrilling!!
Kudos to Dorothy and the Great Bravo!!! Sincerely, Jess Rothenberg.

We were there 3 days ago and had a wonderful time. Jen B's review captures it well: an eccentric vaudevillian feel. Sorry Jen, can I steal another line? I couldn't agree more when you the Bravo and Dorothy are passionate about the craft, the history, are friendly and charismatic. We chatted for quite a while after the show and learned about their backstories and wow, these folks have stories to tell. I have two girls and was delighted to FINALLY see a magician who was woman (rather than assistant). As a former animal trainer in Los Angeles, I'm super sensitive to the condition of any animals used in shows or acts, and their critters were in great form an clearly loved and cared for. The physical space was like Grandma's attic: wonders piled on wonders, all old, all of meaning, all awaiting a little explanation. I loved that the tour was guided as I'm sick sick sick of going to museum, seeing an object, and have dozens of questions far beyond those answered by the descriptive plaque next to the item. You can ask Bravo all kinds of questions...he knows all about it. Very good time.

We stopped here expecting to spend an hour or two looking at stuff - maybe 2-1/2 hours with the magic show. We ended up spending almost 4 hours there, and the show was great! Fun showmanship in a very intimate setting. My kids still talk about it as their favorite part of our cross-country road trip so far, which means to them it outranks Niagara Falls, the Field Museum in Chicago or the House On The Rock in Wisconsin!

The museum is in a bit of an unusual setting, but it was a very entertaining show. This place is entertaining to all ages. The gift shop has anything you can imagine in magic. The museum has real collector items and photos from Houdini's life.

I have done this a couple times over the years with the kids and every time it was really good, you have to park behind the building.

Our family spent time at this museum last weekend. The magic show was terrific with both magicians performing great illusions. This is thoroughly enjoyable for all ages. Our 7 year old was mesmerized and the adults enjoyed being up close to the performers. A tour of the museum was conducted by one of the magicians who was very personable and welcoming. When you are in the area this is a must for a enjoyable afternoon.

Walking in the Houdini Museum is like entering a curiosity shop, with atmosphere galore. After viewing a video, you get a personally guided tour in 2 rooms, loaded with authentic Houdini artifacts. The tour is led by John Bravo and Dorothy Dietrich, a world-reknowned magician. Then, you will be treated to a great magic show by these two magicians, which is worth the price of admission by itself. You or your children might even be invited on stage. Throughout the family-friendly tour, children hear positive messages about how Houdini relied on his abilities and cleverness to become successful, and children are encouraged to do the same. You will be awed and amazed as you see illusions that you cannot explain although you are viewing them from only a few feet away. Be sure to phone the museum in advance to make a reservation and pay by credit card over the phone. This will net the largest discount, and will guarantee you can actually get in. Be sure to arrive at 1:00 when they open to get the most of your visit.
